学会報告：Annual Meeting of the International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue (ISOTT)

国際酸素輸送学会 2025年8月24-28日にて発表

ギリシャ・テッサロニキにて、第52回 ISOTTが開催されました。ISOTTはエンジニア、化学者、生理学者、医師等が「酸素」というキーワードでつながる研究者が参加する学会です。8月のギリシャは地中海気候でカラッとした暑さの中、大学院生2名が 骨格筋と腎臓の酸素ダイナミクスに関する研究を発表しました。

修士課程2年 片岡 凛 さんは、ストレッチの強度と時間が骨格筋微小血管内の酸素分圧に与える影響 について発表しました。同じく修士課程2年の新井　柊李さんは、急性腎不全ラットに対する電気刺激が腎微小血管内の酸素分圧に与える影響について発表しました。片岡さんは ２回目の、新井さんは初 学会、初 発表、初 英語、初 海外、全てが “ 初めて ” の中でしたが、素晴らしいプレゼンテーションで注目を集めました。堀田 准教授は、ISOTT の Young Investigator Symposiumにて、Career paths after Ph.D. というテーマで、若手研究者向けにキャリアパスについて講演しました。また、リン光クエンチング法を用いた肺胞微小血管酸素分圧の計測について、口述発表を行いました。テッサロニキは至る所に世界遺産があり、今でも遺跡が発掘されています。

Conference Report: Annual Meeting of the International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue (ISOTT)

August 24–28, 2025

The 52nd ISOTT was held in Thessaloniki, Greece. ISOTT brings together engineers, chemists, physiologists, and clinicians connected by the common theme of oxygen transport. Under the dry Mediterranean summer climate, two graduate students presented their research on skeletal muscle and renal oxygen dynamics.

Rin Kataoka (M2) presented a study on the effects of stretch intensity and duration on microvascular oxygen partial pressure in skeletal muscle. Shuri Arai (M2) presented the effects of electrical stimulation on renal microvascular oxygen partial pressure in a rat model of acute kidney injury. This was Kataoka’s second conference and Arai’s first conference, first presentation, first English presentation, and first international meeting; both delivered outstanding presentations that attracted considerable attention.

Associate Professor Kazuki Hotta gave a lecture on Career paths after the Ph.D. at the ISOTT Young Investigator Symposium, and also delivered an oral presentation on measuring alveolar microvascular oxygen partial pressure using the phosphorescence quenching technique. Thessaloniki, rich in UNESCO World Heritage sites, offered a unique historical backdrop, with ongoing archaeological discoveries throughout the city.
